Biography:
Called to the Bar: 1982

With a quarter-century of experience in estate legal matters, Doug is the senior member of our team and a founding partner of The Estate House.  He works with accountants, financial planners, stockbrokers, corporate trustees, as well as other lawyers to develop comprehensive estate plans for clients   He is also experienced in administering both contentious and non-contentious estates.

Doug is active with many education, arts, sports, and community groups in the Garneau and Oliver communities and elsewhere in Edmonton.  Professionally, Doug has instructed bar admission students for the Legal Education Society of Alberta, published and presented at the Alberta Law Conference of the Canadian Bar Association and given many public presentations on estate planning and administration.

He serves on the executive of STEP, an international interdisciplinary group of qualified Trust and Estate Practitioners, and is a member of the Estate Planning Council of Edmonton, the Canadian Bar Association Wills & Estates section, and the Collaborative Estates & Trust Lawyers’ society.
